Sassi di Matera, UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture 2019, and tour to discover the natural beauty with a stop and view of the beautiful city of Matera from the Murgia Materana Park
Matera is a rugged city, perched on the fissure of the canyon called Gravina and preserves numerous traces of its thousand-year history, clearly visible especially on the side opposite to that of the Sassi: the so-called Murgia Materana area. Exploring the Sassi of Matera means discovering an incredible rock settlement perfectly integrated into the ecosystem and surrounding territory. The Sassi offer the visitor a glimpse of the life of the Matera population from Paleolithic times to the present day.
The itinerary
Free arrival in Matera, check-in at the hotel and, immediately afterwards, meeting with the Guide who will take you to the Murgia Park (collective transfer included). Free dinner and stay in the hotel. On the second day, there will be a guided tour of the Sassi of Matera with entrance to the Casa Grotta, rock church and entrance to the Palombaro Lungo
